A significant Spring/Summer 2013 trend that seems to have popped up from the high street recently is pinafore dresses. They were nowhere to be seen on the designer catwalks, which just shows that the high street and blogging scene is becoming more and more influential in today's fashion society.
I personally love this trend, even though some would argue that a pinafore dress makes you look like an oversized school girl. This may be the case, but I'm only 22 - I haven't been out of school long, therefore this makes it acceptable (right?)
Another key S/S 13 trend at the moment which - unlike pinafore dresses - actually was showcased on designer catwalks such as Marc Jacobs and Tommy Hilfiger (see my original S/S 13 trend forecast here) is stripes. The most popular of which are monochrome, although other block colours (such as red and yellow) have been seen on the high street also.
For a trip to the pub last week, when the weather was cloudy but warm, I decided to combine both of these trends in my outfit of the day.
I put my new black pinafore dress over a long sleeved stripy top (which was a bit Where's Wally, I'll admit - but that was half the fun of it), complete with black opaque tights and white ballet pumps (which conveyed a sixties feel to the outfit) and statement necklace (it's all about statement necklaces at the moment!)

Kane and I had a lovely time at our local pub - it's part of the Hungry Horse chain and serves the most delicious food!
Where else can you get a burrito longer than the length of a man's arm?
And the yummiest Chocolate Brownie Sundae desserts?
An afternoon well spent, looking like a Where's Wally oversized school girl.
(Are you loving pinafore dresses too? And do you like my outfit? Katie-xo)
