Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween, everybody!

I'm feeling quite festive today.

Halloween is one of my favourite times of year; this derived from uni as there were so many themed events and club nights where scary and ghoulish dressing was an absolute requirement.

I remember during my last year at university, my friends and I did three separate Halloween nights out in three different costumes that we shabbily put together from Primark and Poundland. It was so much fun!

Night one: witch

Night two: vampire

Night three: zombie

At the time, there was nothing better than getting dressed up out of the ordinary, playing drinking games and hitting a heavily decorated Halloween-themed club.

Last year, the first year out of uni, was the first year I hadn't done anything for Halloween in such a long time! I'm getting older now, and happily living with my boyfriend, which means that my priorities are changing. I still love an occasional good night out, but I also like staying in with a movie and a takeaway (and snuggling up on the sofa, of course)!

There's a misconception when you're young that as you get older, you get more boring. I don't see that as the case, I just believe that we realise that there's more ways to have fun than to go out drinking all of the time!

This Halloween is the first Halloween Kane (my boyfriend) and I have been living together. He got dressed up to go to work earlier, because apparently his work always dresses up on the day of Halloween in the office, but I'm not dressing up at all. (Other than having cats on my dress today!)

None of my friends are doing anything special for Halloween. I'm a little bit disappointed, but it also means that I don't have to waste time and money trawling around the shops for a costume!

Instead, Kane and I are carving pumpkins and having our own little treats. Heck, we're even going to throw in a Halloween-themed movie (or two).

We are still celebrating it, but in a different way!

I hope you lovely lot have fun whenever, and however, you decide to celebrate Halloween! It's going to be SPOOK-TACULAR!*

*Sorry for the bad joke.

(How are you spending Halloween this year? Are you dressing up? Thanks for reading! Katie-xo)
