Glastonbury 2013 Fashion

I watch Glastonbury every year. One year I will be there myself watching it live. But, for now, I’ll settle for the TV coverage.

I love the festival season. I went to my first one back in 2008 at the young old age of 17 and, ever since, I have been completely in love with them. Only the people who have been lucky enough to experience them in the past will know how truly special they are. Not only do you get to watch several amazing bands in the same place, but the atmosphere is electric, the people are chilled and everybody just wants to have a good time.

My first one was Leeds for the weekend. I admire all the campers for getting down and dirty but, after that first muddy encounter with Leeds, I decided I didn’t want to camp for a long time!

It’s a great experience, don’t get me wrong – but once you’ve done it, you’ve done it. That weekend I worked out that I’m not the most girliest girl in the world, but I’m a bit too girly for camping! I need a spot of make-up on and a comfy night’s sleep to get me through the days!

Still, it was fun! It resulted in me going back to Leeds for the day in 2009, and in 2010, and then trying out Download Festival in 2011 (related posts: Festival Hype,  Download Grunge and Coldplay’s Postmodern Glasto Set). Unfortunately, due to money issues, I couldn’t go to a festival last year. I was so upset watching all of the coverage on TV and not being able to join in! But this year, I’m trying out V Festival for the day. Nicknamed ‘The Tame Festival’, I’m intrigued to see how it will compare!

Not only do I love the live music aspect of a festival, but I also love the fashion. Grungy, laid-back and thrown-together, but – more often than not – the girls get it right every time!

Here’s my five favourite looks from Glastonbury this year:

5. Cara Delevingne:

Cara brings some street style to the occasion teaming a quirky printed bomber jacket and beanie hat with black skinny jeans and grungy Doc Marten boots.

4. Sienna Miller:

Sienna is known for her bohemian style, and she doesn’t disappoint in this black playsuit with brocade floral jacket, floppy fedora hat and ruched boots. With her naturally wavy locks, she just looks effortlessly cool.

3. Caroline Flack.

Caroline looks cute and fashionable in her navy blue parka with a floral dress underneath, accessorised beautifully with a vintage-looking tan across-the-body satchel, fedora hat and festival staple of Hunters wellies.

2. Millie Mackintosh:

Millie, from Made in Chelsea, keeps it simple in the classic festival ensemble of hotpants and a crop top, complete with a khaki Parka coat, Hunters wellies and a floral headband. Tres chic.

1. Florence Welch:

Florence, from Florence and the Machine, certainly isn’t afraid of making a statement and that’s what I love about her. She looks every inch the hippy in this colourful ensemble, combining a vintage-printed, sixties-style tunic with tan leather boots, oversized sunnies and mini satchel (which she’s holding as a clutch). Top marks, Florence.

Music-wise this year, I really enjoyed watching Bastille, Two Door Cinema Club and The Rolling Stones.

Next stop: V Festival! So excited!

(Have you ever been to a festival, how was your experience? Do you like these Glastonbury looks as much as I do? Thanks for reading! Katie-xo)
