Surely you must have heard of Haim by now? The cool Californian female trio who’s indie rock music has been played more times on Radio 1 in the last few months than I’ve had hot dinners?
Well if you haven’t heard of them already, you sure have now.
Founded in 2006, the band consists of three sisters: Este Arielle, Danielle Sari and Alana Mychal Haim.
I recently bought their debut album, Days Are Gone, and I seriously cannot stop playing it in the car on my way to work.
From the laid-back folky sound of ‘Falling’, to the retro pop tones of ‘Days Are Gone’, and even to the dirty bass rock track ‘My Song 5’, the album is diverse enough to satisfy every alternative music craving that you might have. Out of eleven tracks, I only tend to skip two.
As well as their amazing music, I adore the sisters’ style. Mixing leather and denim with band tees and the odd quirky print, they tend to encapsulate the ‘pretty grunge’ look that I often strive for myself.
Their outfits always look so casual, effortless and thrown-together. It just adds to their cool appeal!
I’ve also caught snippets of their interviews on Radio 1 and they seem like they are so fun, happy and loving life! They’re brilliant role models for young girls interested in music and I’m sure they’re going to go on to do great things.
I now have three new girl crushes.
Hooray for Haim!
(Have you heard of Haim before? Do you like their music? Just a quick note to say that I’m sorry if I’m a bit MIA on the blogging front for the next few weeks – I’ve recently had some bad news in my family. But, as always, many thanks for reading and I really appreciate your support! Katie-xo)
