3 AW17 Lip Colours I’m Loving

Anybody who knows me knows that I’m a matte liquid lipstick addict. There’s no doubt about it – I mean, you rarely see me these days without some kind of vivacious shade on my lips.

Each season, I love to expand my ever-growing collection by keeping up with the latest trends – and this Autumn/Winter 17 is no different. In fact, this season brings us a harem of luscious hues and fresh ideas to transform our smackers into standout looks.

Read on for 3 AW17 lip colours I’m loving.

1. Nude Brown

AW17 lip colours 101: From light cream to coffee brown – as long as your lips are nude, you’re doing it right. This trend takes inspiration from the “barely there” look that was showcased on designer catwalks such as John Galliano and Lanvin for A/W 17.

A throwback to 90s minimalism, combine one of the hottest AW17 lip colours with a fresh, dewy complexion, a touch of bronzer, and understated eyes for a chic, everyday look.

I love Australian fashion retailer Sports Girl’s Lip Chalk in “Desert Rose” (similar) if you want to read my review here.

2. Pastel Pink

Undoubtedly one of my favourite AW17 lip colours, pink was featured in abundance at the A/W 17 shows in every shade, from strawberry ice-cream to hot fuchsia. I particularly loved the dusty rose pouts at Emilia Wickstead and Lanvin, which complimented the models’ dusty rose outfits.

Pastel pink lips are a cute, subtle way of splashing some colour onto your everyday beauty look for A/W 17. I like to wear mine with a hint of blusher, beige eyeshadow, and plenty of mascara to amp up the sass.

My current favourite pastel pink lipstick is Colour Pop’s Lippie Stix in “Brink”.

3. Red Alert

One of the most prominent AW17 lip colours of the moment – all hail red in the fashion and beauty world.

From deep berry hues at La Perla to the two-tone cherry lips at Jason Wu, any shade of red goes! As it’s such a bold colour, I prefer to wear red on my smackers for dressier occasions, rather than the average casual affair. But it’s completely up to you when it comes to how you choose to rock it!

If you’re heading out out (that’s English slang for bar-hopping at night) and want to make an impact, then you might want to combine your dark red lips with gold and bronze eyeshadow, black liquid winged eyeliner, and full beam highlighter. Get it, girl.

I’m crushing on Colour Pop’s Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick in “Avenue“, and I use Colour Pop’s Lippie Pencil in Bichette to line the lips first to create an ombre two-tone effect.
