Even if you’re not doing anything to celebrate Halloween this year or you don’t like dressing up, you can still get involved in the festivities.
How, I hear you ask? Well, you can incorporate Halloween fashion into your wardrobe and keep wearing these fun pieces in the run-up to the big day itself.
It’s no secret that I’ve always been obsessed with fall. Therefore, I’m a big lover of all-things in the fall season, including both Halloween and Halloween-inspired fashion.
Without further ado, let’s get started with this year’s Halloween fashion must-haves. I want them all.
If you’re searching for some wearable, Halloween-inspired items that will seamlessly blend into your comfy casual wardrobe, then look no further! These picks can be integrated into your everyday aesthetic to nod to Halloween without being too overpowering.
1. Pumpkin Spiced Babe Sweater – £15 from Nasty Gal
This poppin’ pumpkin sweater is a bright and beautiful addition to your Halloween wardrobe. Whether you downplay it with jeans and a pair of Converse or rock it with some black and white trousers Beetlejuice-style (see #2), it’ll help you stand out for all the right reasons.
2. Strong Silent Stripe Paperbag Pants – £20 from Nasty Gal
Paperbag pants are still reigning supreme on the style scene and I’m currently loving the back and white stripe versions for the build-up to Halloween. Team them with a snugly sweater for everyday wear (see #1). Alternatively, try a black lace bodysuit or fitted tee (see #3) with heels for smart casual occasions. Either way, these trousers are a statement piece so deserve to be worn with attitude.
3. Black What’s Up Witches Printed Oversized T-Shirt – £10 from Pretty Little Thing
The most straightforward way to tap into Halloween fashion is with a slogan tee. For instance, this “What’s Up Witches” sweet thing from PLT is super sassy when paired with high-waisted jeans, a snugly oversized cardigan and boots for a fresh autumnal look. However, if you want to amp up the ante, swap the jeans for a black leather A-line skirt and add a bold lip for a smarter aesthetic that’s ideal for work or play.
4. ASOS DESIGN Halloween Glow in the Dark Cat Tights – £10 from ASOS
If you want to showcase your love for Halloween through your fashion choices but have a minimalistic style, then why not merely go for a pair of tights? These cat tights are incredibly cute, glow in the dark and will look super cool with a pleated skirt and a rich hued sweater. Alternatively, you could team them with an oversized Halloween-inspired tee (see #3) and heeled boots for the ultimate killer combo.
If you’re planning to go out to a bar or club for a wild Halloween-themed night of partying but don’t feel like wearing a costume, then the following options will see you right.
5. ASOS DESIGN Midi Bodycon Dress with Flared Sleeves – £22 from ASOS
Channel your inner Morticia Addams with this gorgeous black bodycon dress with bell sleeves and a high neckline. Pair it with metallic heels, gothic jewellery and slicked back hair for an elegant Halloweeny aesthetic.
6. Red Devil Horns Slogan Jersey Thong Bodysuit – £12 from Pretty Little Thing
For a sexier Halloween look, opt for this red “Devil” bodysuit with matching red stockings, heeled shoes and a horn headband. To take the sauciness down a notch, simply add high-waisted denim shorts or a more modest skirt. And then you’re ready to dance the night away.
7. Rokoko Halloween Velvet Star Print Flared Trousers Co-Ord – £28 from ASOS
If you’re trying to find a fun, quirky outfit for your Halloween night out, consider this beautiful co-ord from ASOS that reflects a dark, starry night’s sky. It’s glittery, glamorous and gives you ALL of the Halloween vibes.
8. Dusty Pink Iridescent Shell Bodysuit – £12 from Pretty Little Thing
Fancy yourself a bit of a mermaid? This pink shell bodysuit will have you looking and feeling like one of these mesmerising, majestic beauties in no time – especially if you team it with a green pencil skirt or high-waisted flared trousers. In terms of makeup, be sure to implement plenty of sparkle and stick-on sequins to add to the overall dazzling effect.
9. Halloween Skeleton Cycling Short – £6 from Boohoo
An absolute steal at just above a fiver, these cycling shorts with a skeleton print are the perfect on-trend piece for partying this Halloween. As flesh-baring styles are still hot for the autumn/winter season, add either a black bandeau or a long-sleeved crop top with heels for a show-stopping ensemble.
It wouldn’t quite feel like Halloween if you didn’t break out a spooky accessory or two. Whether you use these jewellery pieces to dress up your casualwear or perfectly pull together your evening look, they put a touch of grool on any Halloween outfit.
(I started to say great, and then I said cool… Ahem. Where my Mean Girls homies, at?)
10. Coming Moon Star Earrings – £6 from Nasty Gal
These shiny gold beauties make the most impact when teamed with an all-black ensemble and a matching metallic clutch or heels.
11. Halloween Glitter Crucifix Choker – £6 from Boohoo
Not a Halloween fan? That’s okay! However, if you did want to take part in the occasion in the tiniest way, embrace all things gothic in the form of crucifix jewellery or accessories.
12. ASOS DESIGN Halloween Ghost Earrings in White Resin – £6 from ASOS
With these frightfully fabulous ghost earrings, you can copy the style of your ol’ ghouly friend the Snapchat icon. The neutral hue makes them ideal to wear for both day and night, but I’d personally rock them with a cozy oversized jumper and statement trousers.
13. Bone to Pick Skeleton Hand Harness – £8 from Nasty Gal
Last but not least, check out this amazing skeleton hand harness for Halloween nights out. Sure, it might not be the most practical jewellery item, but it sure is pretty – and it’ll perfectly complete your skeletal ensemble.
There are a variety of cute Halloween fashion pieces that are making me drool this year. The good news is that they suit any age, budget or occasion. No matter what you’ve got planned this Halloween, I hope you have a wonderful time and remember that scaring is caring.
